Meet Jake
Hi, I’m Jake Simmonds, and I am currently a graduate student at Liberty University, where I am earning my degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. My professional background includes over a decade of experience teaching in secondary and higher education, as well as launching a private coaching practice in 2022. These experiences have deeply shaped my belief in the power of individualized support, curiosity, and human connection.
I believe inclusive, personalized care is at the heart of effective counseling. I strive to offer a warm, nonjudgmental space where clients feel respected, understood, and supported. I am especially drawn to the intersection of science and creativity, integrating evidence-based practices alongside reflective and creative approaches to help clients move toward healing and growth. My work often incorporates mindfulness strategies, narrative therapy concepts, reflective journaling, and storytelling as tools for self-understanding and change.
I enjoy working with clients of all backgrounds and ages, and I have the most experience supporting adolescents and emerging adults. I find deep fulfillment in building meaningful connections and walking alongside clients as they explore their stories, strengths, and goals.
Outside of my clinical work, I enjoy writing music, exploring philosophy, crafting handmade fragrances, and spending quality time with family and friends.
