About Purple Sky Counseling

Purple Sky Counseling is a trauma-informed group practice serving kids, teens, adults, couples, and families across Utah. The practice is here for people who are carrying a lot, are tired of figuring it out alone, and want care that is both clinically grounded and deeply respectful of who they are.

The work is built around three anchors: safety, collaboration, and honoring the whole person, including identities, lived experiences, and nervous system.

Why Purple Sky Exists

Many of the people who reach out have felt too much, too sensitive, too complicated, or too different. Some have tried therapy before and did not feel understood, felt rushed, or did not feel met in a way that actually fit.

Purple Sky Counseling exists to offer something different: care that takes people seriously, makes room for their full story, and focuses on real change rather than just pushing through.

Therapy that is trauma-informed and nervous-system aware.

Support that honors neurodivergence instead of pathologizing it.

A place where clients do not have to minimize their story or make it sound easier than it is.

Our Mission

To empower humans on their journey to emotional wellbeing and lifelong fulfillment.

How Therapy is Approached

Clients may work with therapists using approaches such as EMDR, DBT-informed care, IFS-informed work, and other evidence-based methods when they are a good fit. The starting point is always the person and their goals, not a technique. There is no one-size-fits-all therapy. Instead, the practice focuses on:

Safety and pacing

Moving at a pace that respects readiness and nervous system capacity.

Collaboration

Recognizing that the client is the expert on their own life.

Context

Looking at trauma, identity, neurodivergence, relationships, systems, and stress together.

Real-life usefulness

Therapy should help in day-to-day life, not just sound good in theory.

Our Team

Purple Sky Counseling is a multidisciplinary team that includes licensed therapists, mental health counselors, psychiatric providers, crisis professionals, and wellness specialists. The blended model allows professionals across disciplines to collaborate closely so clients receive coordinated, holistic care rather than piecing it together on their own.

Clients do not have to choose alone. The intake team helps match people based on needs, preferences, and availability, and can also help coordinate therapy and medication management when that is part of the plan.

Cassidy DuHadway, founder of Purple Sky Counseling

Our Founder

Purple Sky Counseling was founded by Cassidy DuHadway, LCSW, whose vision was to create a place where deep, long-lasting therapy could happen in an authentic and passionate way. That vision still shapes the practice today, from the way clients are welcomed in to the way therapists and providers support one another behind the scenes.

Cassidy is an EMDR trainer and consultant who specializes in attachment trauma, religious trauma, complex trauma, EMDR, and ADHD. She spends much of her time training and consulting with other therapists, helping clinicians deepen their work with trauma, identity, and nervous system-based healing.

In addition to her work at Purple Sky Counseling, Cassidy writes and teaches about trauma and therapy. If you want to learn more about her training, consultation, speaking, or her book, you can visit her website or read more about her work:
