About Kaitlin Vasil, MFTi (She/Her)

Murray Location

Hi, I’m Kaitlin, a Marriage and Family Therapist Intern (MFTi) currently completing my Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy at Syracuse University, with a concentration in Child and Play Therapy. I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from The Ohio State University, where I also assisted in research focused on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) for depression.

I work with children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families navigating anxiety, stress, emotional dysregulation, substance use concerns, and major life or developmental transitions. I have a particular interest in working with children and teens, couples and families under high stress, and individuals in high-pressure roles who want to strengthen relationships and overall well-being. I also have a special interest in perinatal mental health and enjoy supporting women through pregnancy, postpartum adjustment, and identity shifts related to motherhood.

My therapeutic approach is grounded in attachment theory and family systems work. I integrate evidence-based modalities including Structural Family Therapy, Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), and Narrative Therapy. My goal is to help clients strengthen emotional bonds, improve communication, identify and shift unhelpful patterns, and reconnect with their values—both individually and within their relationships. When appropriate, I also incorporate mindfulness, breathwork, and body-based regulation techniques to support emotional regulation and nervous system balance.

I bring a strong background in child and adolescent crisis intervention, having worked at Nationwide Children’s Hospital in psychiatric crisis emergency and inpatient units, as well as at Huntsman Mental Health Institute in a teen day treatment program. This experience allows me to provide grounded, structured support while helping clients and families build stability, emotional regulation skills, and resilience during periods of crisis or transition.

Outside of the therapy room, I enjoy working on the pottery wheel, learning Olympic lifts, baking and cooking, and making cortados at home. I love talking sci-fi lore and spending quiet time with my cat. I grew up in Cleveland, Ohio, where rowing and working at a marina taught me the value of showing up consistently and doing meaningful work even when growth feels messy or demanding. I bring that same steady, compassionate, roll-up-your-sleeves mindset into my work with clients.

I look forward to meeting you!
