Meet Taya

Hi, I’m Taya. I am a Clinical Mental Health Intern at Westminster University dedicated to helping individuals and families find healing, resilience, and self-empowerment.

I specialize in supporting clients navigating self-esteem challenges, family trauma, anxiety, and systemic issues. With a strong foundation in humanistic and family systems approaches, I also integrate narrative methods like the Tree of Life to help you rewrite your story and find strength in your unique identity.

I have a deep commitment to serving BIPOC and LGBTQ+ communities, creating a space that honors your culture, identity, and experiences without judgment. I’m also passionate about working with couples, especially interracial couples, and families, helping build connection, understanding, and healthier communication.

My experience with high-acuity clients has equipped me to provide compassionate support tailored to a wide range of concerns. I’m excited to expand my skills in expressive arts therapy, EMDR, and Internal Family Systems to offer even more ways to foster growth and healing.

Outside of therapy, I love roller skating, diving into video games, and expressing my creativity through metalsmithing. These hobbies keep me energized and inspired, and I bring that same creativity and enthusiasm to my work with you.

If you’re looking for a thoughtful, culturally aware therapist who will meet you with empathy and respect, I’d be honored to support you on your journey.
