What Is DBT?
Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is a skills-based therapy designed to help people manage overwhelming emotions, improve relationships, and build a more stable and fulfilling life. It combines practical tools from cognitive-behavioral therapy with mindfulness and acceptance practices.
DBT is especially helpful for individuals who feel emotions intensely or have trouble coping in healthy ways. Whether you’re navigating anxiety, mood swings, self-destructive urges, or difficulty communicating, DBT offers real-world strategies to help you find balance and strength.
DBT Teaches Four Core Skill Areas:
Mindfulness – Be present and grounded without judgment
Emotion Regulation – Understand and manage intense emotions
Distress Tolerance – Get through crisis moments without making things worse
Interpersonal Effectiveness – Set boundaries and communicate clearly
The word “dialectical” means holding two truths at once—like “I’m doing the best I can” and “I want to do better.” DBT helps people walk that middle path, offering both acceptance and change.

Your Therapists
If you’re reading this, chances are you’ve been carrying a lot and maybe for a long time. You might feel overwhelmed by your emotions, stuck in patterns you can’t seem to break, or just exhausted from trying to hold it all together. We want you to know: you are not alone, and change is possible.
DBT is not about “fixing” you. It’s about giving you real tools—ones that can help you better understand yourself, regulate your emotions, set healthy boundaries, and handle life’s hardest moments without falling apart.
We understand that reaching out for support can feel vulnerable. We also know how much strength it takes to show up for yourself, even when it’s hard. In our DBT groups, we create a space that’s structured but compassionate—a place where it’s safe to be real, to practice new skills, and to grow at your own pace.
We’re here to walk with you, not ahead of you. And we truly believe that with the right support, you can build a life that feels more grounded, connected, and meaningful.
You don’t have to do this alone.
We're so glad you're here.
