Hi, I’m Alison
Something happened that left a mark, and now it shows up in ways you can't always explain: a startle response that is too strong, a relationship that feels unsafe even when it isn't, a kid who shuts down or melts down and nobody can figure out why. That's not weakness. That's what trauma does, and it is treatable.
I work with children, teens, and adults carrying the weight of past experiences that are still showing up in the present. I specialize in trauma and PTSD, and I work with neurodivergent clients who often carry layers of both. If a parent and child are both struggling, I can often support both rather than requiring separate referrals.
I work best with people who are ready to address what's underneath the surface, even if they're not sure what that is yet. I'm affirming of LGBTQIA+ individuals and those in faith transitions.

My approach is evidence-based and practical. I use EMDR for trauma processing, TF-CBT for children and teens who have experienced trauma, neurofeedback for nervous system regulation, and PCIT for younger children within their caregiver relationship.
For most clients I combine approaches rather than following a single protocol. I also draw on DBT, IFS, and ACT depending on what someone needs.
