Hi, I’m Briquelle
The mornings start with a fight and the evenings end with one. Your kid slams a door, you raise your voice, and then you sit in the car afterward feeling like you handled all of it wrong. Maybe something happened to them that you'd give anything to undo. Not knowing what to do next doesn't make you a bad parent.
I work with children, adolescents, and young adults, and with the families and caregivers around them. That means emotional regulation and anger, behavior at home and at school, sexual trauma, attachment wounds, grief, and life transitions. I also do parent training, coparenting work, family therapy, and premarital counseling.
Before I was a therapist I spent a decade with children in classrooms and childcare settings, so very little a kid does in my office surprises me. I do my best work with families who treat this as a team effort and are willing to carry what we practice into the rest of the week. We'll figure out together what's actually driving the behavior, then build something you can use on a Tuesday morning when everyone is late and no one has eaten.

Experiential and play based work sits at the center of what I do with younger clients, because play is where children are most honest. From there I pull in TF-CBT for trauma, DBT and CBT skills for regulation, motivational interviewing when someone isn't sure they want to be in the room yet, and Gottman Method work with families and couples.
I'm especially drawn to what happens between people rather than inside one person: a parent and a child learning to read each other again, two coparents getting on the same side, a couple deciding what kind of marriage they want before they start it.
