Hi, I'm McKenzie
If you're a parent reading this, you're probably tired. Maybe the meltdowns feel bigger than the moment seems to call for. Maybe your child has been through something hard and you don't know how to help them carry it. Maybe you've been told your kid is “too much,” and you just want someone who sees the whole, wonderful child you know is in there. You're in the right place.
I work with children, teens, adults, and families, with particular focus on neurodivergent kids (ADHD, autism, and developmental differences), children processing trauma or big life changes, and attachment, behavior, and parent-child relationship concerns.
I want our work to feel collaborative and unpressured. Kids don't open up on command, and neither do parents. My job is to build enough safety that real change becomes possible, at your child's pace and yours. I believe kids aren't problems to be fixed; they're people doing their best with the tools they have, and so are their parents.

With young children, I work through play, because that's how kids process the world. I'm trained in Child-Parent Psychotherapy and Attachment and Biobehavioral Catch-up, both of which include you in the work. With older kids, teens, and families, EMDR is my primary tool for processing trauma, and I'm currently working toward EMDR certification. I also use TF-CBT, CBT, DBT, and attachment-based family therapy. My style is warm, steady, and practical.
I'm especially drawn to early childhood, neurodivergence, and helping families repair and reconnect after a hard season.
