Meet Nate
Hi, I’m Nate! I am a Clinical Social Work intern at the University of Utah with a deep passion for helping individuals, teens, and families navigate identity, healing, and life transitions with authenticity and support.
I specialize in working with LGBTQ+ teens and adults, individuals exploring faith transitions, and those navigating emotional challenges, identity development, or major life changes. My background includes supporting clients through trauma, spiritual shifts, and questions of belonging. Whether you're questioning long-held beliefs, stepping into a new chapter of self-understanding, or seeking a more empowered connection to yourself and others, I offer a space grounded in compassion, clarity, and affirmation.
My approach is trauma-informed and values-based, and I draw from evidence-based modalities including Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and soon Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). I’m a Certified Trauma Support Specialist and have completed additional training in Skills for Psychological Recovery (SPR), with upcoming coursework in mind-body bridging, couples therapy, and mindfulness.
I’m especially passionate about supporting neurodivergent youth, gender-diverse clients, and individuals navigating the intersection of LGBTQ+ identity and spirituality. I believe no one should have to choose between being their authentic self and honoring their spiritual or cultural values. My goal is to help you create space for both — and move toward a life that feels more grounded, aligned, and whole.
Outside of therapy, I enjoy spending time in nature, traveling, connecting with loved ones, and volunteering in my community. Whether in the outdoors or the therapy room, I find joy in deep connection, learning, and growth.
