Hi, I’m Sarah
Some people have felt like therapy wasn't for them. Too formal. Too question-and-answer. A version of talking about their problems without anything actually shifting. I've heard that a lot, and it's part of why my work looks different.
I work with adults, particularly women, LGBTQIA+ people, single mothers, and those who have lost someone. Grief, including the complicated kind that comes with being widowed young or losing someone in a relationship you couldn't name publicly, is something I hold carefully. I also work with people in faith transitions.
If you've tried therapy before and it didn't quite fit, I'd love to try a different approach with you.

EMDR and Brainspotting are my trauma processing anchors. Psychodrama and expressive arts, including writing, visual art, and creativity, are where I do some of my most powerful work. The things that got stuck didn't always get stuck through language, and they don't always come out through language either.
Parts work and IFS add depth. TF-CBT, CBT, DBT, and ACT round out the toolkit. I follow the person rather than the protocol.

Sarah is a Certified Social Worker working toward full licensure. Her work is supervised by Maggie Milligan, LCSW. Supervised care means a licensed clinician is actively involved in your treatment from the start. Associates here meet weekly with their individual supervisor, join biweekly group supervision, and take part in monthly consultation groups covering specialties like DBT, EMDR, and complex trauma, plus a monthly deep dive training built to sharpen skills and deepen expertise.
